The Road Path for Bitcoin?
Is Bitcoin going to be outlawed?
Probably not but it will be regulated soon...
Realize there is some real money being invested behind certain projects...
Everyone knows that banks are built on old technology. AXA Ventures invested $55 million in Blockstream back in 2016 which influenced Bitcoin’s core to limit its size. Blockstream is developing Lightning which is a payment rail on top of Bitcoin, Lightning nodes will likely be controlled by future banks and exchanges with fee charges for transfers between open nodes on this second layer solution. Down the road, a central bank digital currency (CBDC) could also be traded on this network.
It’s seems kind of obvious when you look at the general direction and mantra being echoed in the space by Bitcoiners. Newer Bitcoiners entering into the crypto space are all being KYC'd (Know Your Customer) thus removing the privacy aspect. The old original libertarian vision for Bitcoin has faded out through the noise thus why BCH and BSV haven’t done well in this bull run which are actually more cost efficient in their use. Privacy coins like Monero is often a target for government scrutiny. Bitcoin is no longer the promised P2P digital currency it once was but is a new reserve asset to back the new financial system. People are slowly being herded into Bitcoin which will eventually be deposited and controlled with banks through regulation similar to the 1933 gold confiscation.
The only thing that might challenge this is Decentralized Finance (DeFi) but banks will likely have their hands in that as well. I could easily see DeFi handling the backend of many financial institutions as technology leaps at an accelerated pace. It will be interesting to see how miners and nodes become regulated as they can often influence the direction of a blockchain as a collective; I envision them all eventually being licensed entities which are heavily regulated.
Just my observation and opinion.
